Guest Speaker: Paul Bird, Communication Manager, The Hinze Dam Alliance

The Hinze Dam Alliance consists of Seqwater and three private sector partners – Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), Thiess and URS – that are leaders in major water infrastructure projects.

• SKM is skilled in securing approvals, community and stakeholder consultation, and environmental and recreational planning;
• Thiess has extensive experience in project and financial management and the construction of major dams; and
• URS specialises in dam design, engineering and geotechnical skills.

The project commenced in January 2008 and will conclude December 2010.

Paul has more than 25 years of communication experience including news, current affairs and political journalism, community engagement on major infrastructure and development projects, and emergency management and communication with the Victorian ambulance.

The presentation details the works completed and still underway at the Hinze Dam and features lots of images taken throughout the life of the $395 million project.
