The Central Gold Coast region comprising of Burleigh Heads, Robina and Varsity Lakes is an exciting place with an extremely fast growing manufacturing, retail and professional servicing business environment made up of small, medium and large businesses. The region amounts to approximately one-third of the Gold Coast business community and is home to some of Australia’s largest companies including surf brand giant, Billabong.
Each of the three precincts has its own unique characteristics:
Burleigh Heads offers a relaxed coastal village feel with an eclectic mix of retail and dining surrounding the cosmopolitan James Street precinct, while further inland the suburb is home to Burleigh West Shopping Centre and a thriving showroom and warehouse precinct.
Varsity Lakes – one of the Gold Coast’s newest and arguably its fastest growing business hubs – is home to a range of professional services ranging from lawyers and accounts to travel agents. It is also home to one of Australia’s best known educational institutions in Bond University.
The suburb continues to evolve with a number of new residential and commercial developments underway, as well important infrastructure such as the Robina to Varsity Lakes rail line extension scheduled to be completed in late 2009.
The adjacent suburb of Robina is home to one of the southern hemisphere’s largest shopping centres, Robina Town Centre, and home to the Gold Coast’s number one national sporting team, the Gold Coast Titans and their home ground Skilled Park.
Robina is also an important transport hub for the central Gold Coast with Robina Train Station catering for commuters heading north to Brisbane, while the station and the nearby town centre serve as a vital bus interchange.
